Fudgies is an independent café, bar and bistro serving high-quality food and drink to the local community in an informal and relaxed setting. Our south-facing courtyard garden is a perfect spot to enjoy the range of delights on offer. Our coffee is freshly roasted locally, our loose leaf tea sourced in Sussex and wherever possible our food is locally sourced and ethically produced. We stock English and international wines, craft ales, lagers and ciders as well as some rather naughty cocktails. (All day!).
Fudgies aims to serve all the communities it’s part of. From the farmers producing our products to the suppliers who source them for us, our hard working team here in Fudgies and of course the lovely people of Hove. It’s owned and run by Fudge (with a little help from Julian his Dad) who both live just down the road and who can’t think of any good reason to live anywhere but here.
Our chef lives to create the best eating experience he can by sourcing the finest produce available, locally produced and sourced wherever possible. From Fudgies signature breakfast to delicious brunches and night-time bites to accompany a nice glass of wine or beer there’s something for just about everybody.
To go along with your food we stock a selection of world and English wines, craft and draft ales, ciders, naughty cocktails, locally roasted coffee and Sussex loose leaf teas.

This is Fudge. He’s a dog. Well sort of. Well not really much of a dog at all if we’re honest. All we know is he’s The Fudge.
Little is known of Fudge’s past apart from when Fudge gave up his job foraging for food on the streets of Ireland to adopt his new family here in Hove. Fudge loves everybody no matter who they are and where they come from. He also loves sausage.
After living here for a while Fudge decided to open a bistro in Hove that reflects his love of all people (and sausage.) With a bit of help from Julian his Dad Fudgies bistro was born.
Fudge is normally around the bar somewhere and likes to help out in the Bistro, especially when it comes to clearing up leftovers.
Whenever you visit you are assured of a warm welcome from Fudge who likes nothing more than making new friends and greeting old ones alike.
